![]() Where else would you rather be on a Friday morning than at Newark Antiques Fair? Obviously, it would have been more beneficial to have visited on the Thursday, when all the best treasure is up for grabs. However, I was on holiday, so Friday would have to do for my Mum and I this time. If you aren't aware of Newark Antiques Fair, then hold on to your hats because I've got a few juicy photos coming up. Newark is the largest Antiques Fair in Europe. Europe?! And I am lucky enough to be just 30 short minutes away from it! So every other month, when the lovely fair is held, my Mum and I make sure our schedules are free! There are so many amazing stalls here, and there are always hidden wonders to find. I usually have a plan in mind before I go, listing all the items in my head I'm looking for this time around, but, as usual, something else will catch my magpie eyes and I'll return home with a new and unique item. It was actually at Newark Antiques Fair in June where I got my giant paper flowers from, and I absolutely love them!! If you haven't seen the flowers yet then click here. There is literally a stall for every desire you may have, and it's interesting to go around and spot the trends that keep occurring every few stalls. For example, this time round, if you wanted an old antique wire bird cage, you would have had a field day choosing which one to take home. However, for me, I was on the hunt for props!! I've become obsessed with props recently and I cannot tell you how useful they are when you're doing fairs yourself. Last time I bought two lonely drawers to display my cards in, and I'm so pleased with them. Whereas this time I bought an old battered decorators paint can to put flowers in. It's so incredibly beautiful with its pastel pink paint drips!! There are fabric stalls, clothing, jewellery, glass, homeware, and so much wooden furniture you could die! I have to control myself whilst walking around, and take a predetermined amount with me so I don't overspend, because it's so easy to!!! If I were to open a shop ... and if I had a few pennies knocking around ... there is no doubt that I would come here to buy all my displays! But for now, I'll just have to stick with my smaller purchases for my stands.
Speaking of purchases though, my favourite buy has to be the big white door I bought from Honeysuckle & Roses! Since attending the instagram workshop by Just Belle, I wanted to get the perfect surface for flatlay photos and I knew I needed to find a door, and boy was this door perfect! To see it in action click here. I wish I had taken more photos of all the treasure but I was just totally in awe (and in complete shopping mode) and forgot to get my camera out half the time! I'll be back at the October Fair to give you all another update on what you can find here at Europe's biggest Antiques Fair. This one is for all the stall holders who stood in that August heat all day! I feel ya! x
